Concealed behind the mosquito net

Paperbark Camp

A two hour drive from Sydney - and you are embraced by the wildness of the Australian bush. As you drive down the tree lined entrance into Paperbark Camp, the scents and sounds will take you back to childhood camping trips.

But when you arrive, you’ll realise this is far from any ordinary camping spot: this is 100 acres of lush bush land (the camp borders three celebrated national parks, Booderee, Jervis Bay and Jervis Bay Marine Park). What’s more, you are “Glamping” in style baby! From the moment you walk into reception, the incredible staff make you feel that nothing is too much. They guide you down to your private boardwalk into your tent, and it is no run-of-the-mill canvas home… This ‘Safari Tent’ is the Buckingham Palace of tents but with a better view! *Sorry Queenie* On stilts and with a cool white roof, this palatial space with a king size bed is an invitation to romance. The best part? All there is between you and the outside world is the draped gauze of a mosquito net. Draw it and you have the sounds and scents of the bush, but you are within the luxury of your own private palace. So, grab yourselves a bottle of Sexy Beast Cab Sav, run a hot bath, and beckon your partner to join you gazing out across the paperbark and eucalyptus trees… I hate to use the word “tranquil”, but these two city slickers from Sydney have never been more relaxed and zen’d out just enjoying each other. For anyone one looking to take a break from the big smoke, this is the perfect destination to unwind and get a little intimate.
